Smok
Smok (Dragoon) is a Polish built semiautomatic pocket pistol based on German Liliput pocket handgun which was at that time offered in Poland under a name of Orzeł (Eagle). Liliput itself was based on Cyka pocket pistol designed by Alfred Menz and Franc Karpiński. Liliput fired 6,35x15,5SR mm cartridge, while Cyka was barreled for 4,25x10 mm cartridge. Smok production started at the end of 1920-ties in factory of Stanisław Nakulski in Gniezno. The factory was specializing in production of cattle slaughter machinery. Smok is a blowback operated pistol with an open slide. On the left side of a slide there is a "Smok" logo, while right side is marked with "S.Nakulski 6,35 Fabr. Broni Gniezno" (S. Nakulski 6,35 Gniezno Weapon Factory). Smok fires 6,35x15,5SR mm (.25ACP) cartridge being fed from 6-round single column magazine located in pistol grip. Magazine latch is located at the bottom of the grip. Both grip panels are marked with "Smok" logo. Smok has single action trigger mechanism without hammer. Manual safety lever is located on the left side of the frame behind the grip panel. Pistol does not have a slide catch. Factory of Stanisław Nakulski manufactured 2000 Smok pistols.
Grom
Grom (Thunderclap) is a Polish semiautomatic blank firing pocket pistol based on Smok design. Grom is a blowback operated pistol with an open slide. Front of the Grom contains imitation of the barrel. Grom utilizes 6,35x15,5SR mm (.25ACP) cartidge tipped with a paper bullet containing smokeless powder charge. Because pistol can not fire a standard 6,35x15,5SR caliber rounds, therefore the left side of a slide is marked with "Tylko do nabojów postrachowych kal. 6,35 Straszak Grom" ( For blank cartridge 6,35 Straszak Grom caliber only). Grom is fed from 5-round single column magazine located in pistol grip. Magazine latch is located at the bottom of the grip. Both grip panels are marked with "Grom" logo. Grom has single action trigger mechanism without hammer. Manual safety lever is located on the left side of the frame behind the grip panel. Pistol does not have a slide catch.
